Although I have been making art and objects for as long as I can remember, I found my love of metal in my first metals class at the University of Michigan in 1993. It has been my main source of inspiration ever since. Kirsten earned her BFA in Metalwork and Jewelry Design from the University of Michigan in 1997 and her MA from California State University Fullerton in 2001. Kirsten has been teaching art and jewelry since 2007 Kirsten’s current body of work, focusing on traditional metalwork and enameling techniques, is a reflection of her passion for metalworking and love of design. Drawn from a love of mid-century objects and colors, her work has a playful and joyous aesthetic.
